QuickBooks is a mess. We can fix it.
QuickBooks cleanup for Indiana small businesses — fix categorization, reconcile accounts, rebuild chart of accounts, get books filing-ready.
QuickBooks rewards a clean setup and punishes the opposite. Common signs of a mess: unreconciled accounts, uncategorized transactions, miscoded inventory, balance sheet items that don't tie, payroll that doesn't match Form 941. All fixable.
How do you start a QuickBooks cleanup?
Diagnostic: we review the file (read-only, via Accountant Access) and identify what's broken — unreconciled accounts, miscategorized transactions, chart-of-accounts drift, balance-sheet items that don't reconcile. The diagnostic costs $300–$500 and tells you the scope.
Plan: from the diagnostic, we scope the cleanup work — months, years, transactions to recategorize, accounts to reconcile. Most cleanups are 2–8 weeks of part-time work.
Do I need to redo the chart of accounts?
Often, but not always. Common pattern: keep the existing accounts, merge duplicates, retire orphans, add the few you need. Full chart rebuild is reserved for files that are unsalvageable as-is.
What if my QuickBooks file is corrupted or lost?
We can rebuild from external records — bank/credit-card statements, payment processor exports, prior-year tax returns, payroll history. See Cleanup & Catch-up Bookkeeping for the full rebuild path.
